Extracurricular activities 17.08.2015 - 23.08.2015

Here are the extracurricular activities we have in store for this week, ideal to keep practising Spanish. Are you in?

Monday 17, 4:00 pm: Zumba class – Do you feel like doing some zumba? Our Spanish teacher, Lourdes, will give us a class and we’ll have a good time with her.

Approximate duration: 1h.

Tuesday 18, 6:20 pm: Theatre workshop – At Espacio Al Margen we’ll attend a theatre workshop where we will learn a variety of theatre exercises in Spanish.
Approximate duration: 2h.

Wednesday 19, 5:00 pm: Bike tour – Another good chance to know Salamanca from a different point of view. Let's join us!

Approximate duration: 1h.

Thursday 20, 6:20 pm: Chocolate con churros – This afternoon we are headed to Cafetería El Valor for a delicious treat. Have you already tried chocolate con churros (hot chocolate with a fried dough)? You cannot miss it!
Approximate duration: 40min.

Friday 21, 6:20 pm: Dance class – We are going to learn the first steps of a typical Latin dance (minimum 8 students) It is important to let reception know if you are interested in this activity before 12.30 pm.
Approximate duration: 1h.

Saturday 22: Excursions – Would you like to make an excursion to Aveiro or Gijón this weekend? Further information at the reception desk.

Te recordamos que es necesario apuntarse en conserjería para cada actividad (para reservar tu plaza; el número mínimo de participantes requerido normalmente es de tres personas). Te recordamos también que las actividades que no tienen un precio en su detalle informativo son gratuitas, y que el punto de encuentro - salvo que se diga otra cosa - es siempre la propia escuela Tía Tula.

Las actividades están pensadas no sólo para divertirte (eso está garantizado) sino también para que mejores tu conocimiento de la cultura salmantina y española, y para que pongas en práctica el español que aprendes en clase.

Extracurricular activities 27.07.2015 - 2.08.2015

This week we bid farewell to July with some great extracurricular activities that will get you to practise your Spanish and dive into our culture. Are you going to miss out?

Monday 27, 5:00 pm: Film - Spanish cinema session. Great for improving your listening skills.

Tuesday 28, 4:30 pm: Theatre workshop - We are heading to espacio al_margen for some theatrical exercises. You will have fun and gain confidence in expressing yourselves.

Wednesday 29, 5:00 pm: Conversation workshop - Teacher Cristina will suggest some topics and help you get better at speaking Spanish.

Thursday 30, 7:30 pm: Tapas tour - Here comes again, a great chance to meet people, practise what you learn in class and savor some delicious Spanish tapas.

Friday 31, 7:15 pm: Cinema - We will take you to the cinema where you will watch a film of your choice.

Saturday 1 y Sunday 2 - One-day or two-day excursions to several destinations. Further information at the reception desk.

Extracurricular activities 6.07.2015 - 12.07.2015

This week at Tía Tula we have planned after-class activities for every taste. Don't miss them out!

Monday 6, 5:20 pm:
Dramatised tour – A citizen of 1850's Salamanca will show you some of the key spots of the city and their history through some fun games.

Approximate duration: 2 h.

Tuesday 7, 5:00 pm: Film – Don't miss this chance to improve your Spanish and get to know the culture a bit better.
Approximate duration: 1:40 h.

Wednesday 8, 7:30 pm: Literary meet – Actor, dramatist and stage director Roberto García Encinas is the speaker, and the gardens of Santo Domingo, the unrivalled venue.
Approximate duration: 1:30 h.

Thursday 9, 4:30 pm: Theatre workshop - Put into practice the Spanish you are learning at class in this theatre workshop held at espacio _almargen.

Approximate duration: 2 h.

Friday 10, 7:30 pm: Tapas tour – One cannot fully know a culture until he tries its gastronomy, so we are doing that today in a tapas tour in which we will visit some of the best tapas bars in the city centre.

Approximate duration: 1:30 h.

Saturday 11 y Sunday 12: Excursions – Santander, Aveiro, Oporto, Pamplona (it's San Fermín!), Madrid, Lisboa y Fátima, Sevilla... You choose. Further information at the reception desk.

Extracurricular activities 15.06.2015 - 20.06.2015

Summer is fast approaching! Meanwhile, we say goodbye to the spring and its rainy days enjoying all the extracurricular activities for this week.

You can see below what we have planned for each day:

Monday 15, 5:50 pm: DIY postcards workshop – We are heading to a very special stationary shop (www.atentamentepapeleria.com) where we`ll craft our own postcard to welcome the summer and where we’ll see that 'imperfection is beauty’ :)
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Tuesday 16, 5:30 pm: Theatre workshop – At Espacio Almargen we’ll attend a theatre workshop where we will learn a variety of theatre exercises in Spanish.
Approximate duration: 2 h.

Wednesday 17, 5:30 pm: Horse riding – We’ll enjoy a spectacular horse riding along the Ribera del Duero. An experience you shouldn’t miss!
Approximate duration: 2:30 h (round trip transportation plus 1:30 h riding).

Thursday 18, 3:40 pm: Zumba class – Do you feel like doing some zumba? Our Spanish teacher, Lourdes, will give us a class and we’ll have a good time with her.

Friday 19, 7:30 pm: Tapas tour – We put the icing on the cake at the end of this week tasting some excellent tapas at some of the best bars of the city centre.

Saturday 20: Excursions – We have some great destinations for this week-end’s excursion!
Aveiro, La Alberca, Arribes del Duero and Ledesma.

 Let's welcome June with Tía Tula's extracurricular activities. Ideal to keep practising Spanish. Are you in?

Monday 1, 5:30 pm: Theatre workshop - We are heading to Espacio Almargen to learn some theatre games and exercises -in Spanish, of course!
Approximate duration: 2 h.

Tuesday 2, 7:45 pm: Cookery lesson - This week we will cook a delicious paella and then taste it.
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Wednesday 3, 7:30 pm: Book presentation - Our Chief of Studies, Montse Villar, will present her latest book "Bitácoras de Silencios" at Teatro Liceo. Teacher Carmen L. will go with you. Don't miss out! 
Approximate duration: 1:30 h.

Thursday 4, 7:45 pm: Urban gallery - Do you know Barrio del Oeste? Its open-air urban gallery is a must-see. They are creating new pieces, so we may even get the chance to talk to the artists!
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Friday 5, 7:20 pm: Exhibition + tapas - Back to Barrio del Oeste, we will visit the exhibition "He cambiado de opinión" (meaning I've changed my mind) at La Salchichería. We will after go have some tapas.
Approximate duration: 1:30 h.

Saturday 6, Excursions – Lisboa-Coimbra-Fátima, Aveiro, Toro, Valencia or Gandía. A great weekend ahead, you choose your destination. Further information at the reception desk.
