Solidarity should be a global language

The Asamblea de Apoyo a Personas Migrantes de Salamanca (Association for Migrants in Salamanca) is a volunteer-run NGO that aims to collect donations in order to support refugees in Lesbos, Greece.

On Thursday April 14 and Friday April 15, a campaign titled En Compañía y otras calles solidarias (On Compañía and other streets of solidarity) will help gather funds. Different activities such as music, solidarity pinchos, poetry, theater, and concerts will take place at various venues to help the NGO raise enough money to transport supplies to the refugees.

We will also be selling raffle tickets for 1 euro, for a chance to win a dinner for two at Salam restaurant, and a night at La Querida, a homestead in Rodasviejas. You can buy a ticket at any of the venues involved in the campaign.

The campaign will begin on Thursday, April 14 with a playback theater game from 17:45 to 19:15 at the performing arts space Almargen. The activity is based on improvisation by the actors, as well as spontaneous music.

Here at Tía Tula we´ve also decided to get involved. On Friday, April 15, thanks to A.C Pentadram, we´ve helped organize a wine-tasting activity, starting at 13:00 in Manolita Café-Bar. There will be poetry, music, and painting while we eat pinchos. We will donate 40% of sales to the campaign.
Afterward, at Salam Restaurant, from 17:00 to 19:00, there will be an Arab cooking workshop. The cost is 25€; all income from this activity will go directly to the campaign.

You can find out about many other activities, along with their locations, by checking out the attached flyer.

Solidarity should be a global language. Join us to help make it happen!
