Plazas y Patios 2015

The program of "Plazas y Patios" continues in Salamanca during the whole summer. Until august 30th we could carry on enjoying a wide variety of theatral performances and musical exhibitions for all the public and moreover for free.

El Crimen del fraile Luis - Etón Teatro
Etón Teatro sets up a play based on the key person of the 16 century in Salamanca, starting from an original text by Ángel González Quesada.

Theatralized tour - Mi nombre es Teresa - Los Absurdos Teatro
Through this thetralized tour, let's discover the traveller Saint who intellectually and spiritually enriched the lives of all salmantinos.

Summer in the Cave - El estudiante de Salamanca. Theatralized Visit - By Luis García Jambrina

Extracurricular activities 27.07.2015 - 2.08.2015












This week we bid farewell to July with some great extracurricular activities that will get you to practise your Spanish and dive into our culture. Are you going to miss out?

Monday 27, 5:00 pm: Film - Spanish cinema session. Great for improving your listening skills.
Tuesday 28, 4:30 pm: Theatre workshop - We are heading to espacio al_margen for some theatrical exercises. You will have fun and gain confidence in expressing yourselves.

Wednesday 29, 5:00 pm: Conversation workshop - Teacher Cristina will suggest some topics and help you get better at speaking Spanish.

Thursday 30, 7:30 pm: Tapas tour - Here comes again, a great chance to meet people, practise what you learn in class and savor some delicious Spanish tapas.

Friday 31, 7:15 pm: Cinema - We will take you to the cinema where you will watch a film of your choice.

Saturday 1 y Sunday 2 - One-day or two-day excursions to several destinations. Further information at the reception desk.

Please don't forget that you need to sign up for each activity at the reception desk (in order to reserve your place). The minimum number of participants required for each activity is usually three. Unless otherwise stated, the meeting point is Tía Tula school.

Monday 20, 4:30 pm: Dramatised tour – Today we are going to get to know Salamanca a bit better and in a different way.
Approximate duration: 2 h.

Tuesday 21, 6:00 pm: Make your own postcards workshop – Looking for a postcard to send back home? Why don't you create your own? Come to our workshop at la papelería-atelier Atentamente.
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Wednesday 22, 4:00 pm: Swimming pool – Time for a splash. Join us!
Approximate duration: 2 h.

Thursday 23, 5:00 pm: Spanish music in the 80s – Teacher Elena will walk us through a very important period of Spanish music, the 80s. Super fun songs await you.
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Friday 24, 7:30 pm: Microtheathre – We are heading to La Malhablada  to enjoy a microtheatre play.
Approximate duration: 40 min.

Saturday 25 and Sunday 26: Excursions – Looking forward to a one-day or a weekend trip? Come by the reception desk to check the destinations available.

Monday 13, 5:00 pm: Guided tour - Teacher Lorena will show you the most emblematic monuments of Salamanca.
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Tuesday 14, 4:30 pm: Flamenco lesson – Learn the basic steps of this world-famous Spanish dance.
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Wednesday 15, 5:00 pm: Visit to the Cathedrals – Don't miss out this spectacular monument and learn its history and secrets with an audioguide. 
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Thursday 16, 6:00 pm: Workshop: Celebrations and music in Salamanca - By the always joyful teacher Carmen.
Approximate duration: 1:30 h

Friday 17, 7:30 pm: Tapas tour –Come try Spanish tapas in some of the best bars of the city centre.
Approximate duration: 1:30 h.

Saturday 18 and Sunday 19: Excursions – Several destinations available: Gijón, Aveiro, Valencia, Toledo, Fátima (Portugal), Sevilla and Granada, Barcelona… Further information at the reception desk.

This week at Tía Tula we have planned after-class activities for every taste. Don't miss them out!


Monday 6, 5:20 pm:
Dramatised tour – A citizen of 1850's Salamanca will show you some of the key spots of the city and their history through some fun games.
Approximate duration: 2 h.

Tuesday 7, 5:00 pm: Film – Don't miss this chance to improve your Spanish and get to know the culture a bit better.
Approximate duration: 1:40 h.

Wednesday 8, 7:30 pm: Literary meet – Actor, dramatist and stage director Roberto García Encinas is the speaker, and the gardens of Santo Domingo, the unrivalled venue.
Approximate duration: 1:30 h.

Thursday 9, 4:30 pm: Theatre workshop - Put into practice the Spanish you are learning at class in this theatre workshop held at espacio _almargen.
Approximate duration: 2 h.

Friday 10, 7:30 pm: Tapas tour – One cannot fully know a culture until he tries its gastronomy, so we are doing that today in a tapas tour in which we will visit some of the best tapas bars in the city centre.
Approximate duration: 1:30 h.



Saturday 11 y Sunday 12: Excursions – Santander, Aveiro, Oporto, Pamplona (it's San Fermín!), Madrid, Lisboa y Fátima, Sevilla... You choose. Further information at the reception desk.

One can never get bored in Salamanca, there is always something up, something to do, some place, monument, event or food ready to be discovered/enjoyed/tasted. University and touristic, the city is characterized by its incessant and varied cultural and leisure offer. Some students at Tía Tula Spanish School have helped us create a list of things to do in Salamanca before leaving. Among them there are some that we could call typical, but also new and original ones. Every aspect of the city is covered: customs, architecture, culture, leisure, sports, gastronomy...
