Extracurricular activities 15.02.2016 - 21.02.2016

There isn´t a week that goes by at Tía Tula that isn´t special :)

Take a look at this week´s activities:

Monday, February 15, 18:00: Snack – We´ll spend a very sweet afternoon thanks to the delicious sweets at La Manolita, the school café.

Time: 1 hour

Tuesday, February 16, 16:20: Conversation workshop – Take advantage of this workshop to continue practicing your Spanish! It´s a great opportunity! 

Time: 1 hour

Wednesday, February 17, 18:20: Board games – We love the time that we spend at La Manolita, the school café. This time, we´ll learn how to play various board games. :) 

Time: 1 hour

Thursday, March 18, 16:55: Dance class – We´ll learn the basic steps of Latin dancing. It´s going to be very fun! 

Time: 1 hour

Friday, March 19, 18:20: Language exchange – We´ll enjoy the perfect combination of meeting people and practicing our language skills, all thanks to our language exchanges with students who speak English and Spanish. We´ll be waiting for you at La Manolita, the school café. 

Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21: Trips – Find out information from the school office about the places we recommend visiting on the weekend.

We´d like to remind you that it´s necessary to sign up for each activity in order to reserve a spot; a minimum of 3 people is normally required. The meeting point is always Tía Tula, unless we inform you otherwise. 

The activities are not only for having fun (that´s a guarantee). They´re also meant for you to improve your knowledge of the culture in Salamanca and Spain, and to use the Spanish that you learn in class.

Activities 16/06-22/06

Do you want to cool a little in the swimming pool and then lie in the sun? You have such opportunity and there is no need to go far from city. Are you interested to know more about Salamanca, let’s go on Tuesday and you’ll discover something new! And don’t forget to try a wide variety of tapas on Thursday. On Friday we are going to mini theater and I promise it will be incredible. In the weekends you have two excursions (with the Maria Angeles company) for any taste. All the best!

Monday 16, 16.00: Pool - spend the afternoon in the one of the city swimming pools. Swimming and playing cards. Approximate duration: 3 hours. (Price: € 3.35).

Tuesday 17, 19.00: Guided tour - Someone from the school will accompany us to visit the most important monuments of the city while telling its story. Aproxiamda Duration: 1h.

Wednesday 18, 17.00: Boat Ride - We will take a boat ride on the River Tormes (pedal boats or rowing). Approximate duration: 1h. (Price: 3,50 €).

Thursday 19, 19.00: Taste Tapas - Paella, Spanish (potato) omelet, Galician pasty… different taste typical tapas in Spain. Minimum 10 people for the activity. Approximate duration: 1h (price: 5 €).

Friday 20, 19:30: Mini-theater - We will approach the area of  La Malhablada for watching mini theater scenes in Spanish. Approximate length: 30min. (Price: 3 €).

Saturday 21: Excursion - visit the cities of the border with Maria Angeles company. You must sign up before the 19th Thursday of June (For more information ask secretary).

Sunday 22: Excursion - We go to the beach in Aveiro (Portugal) with the company María Angeles. You must sign  up before the 19th Thursday of June. (For more information ask secretary).

Remember to sign up for the activity at the reception beforehand (the minimum number of people needed for each activity is 3). If the cost is not stated then the activity is free. We recommend that our students participate in the activities so they can get to know other students in the school, so they can broaden their knowledge of Spanish culture and to practice and improve their Spanish in a fun way.

Tuesday, 21th of January, 20:00: Exposition. "Breaking the mold"

The twentieth century in Spain was lavish in artists and artistic movements that emerged to break styles and create new forms of expression. A trend that came from other countries social becomings of a turbulent century that led to a wealth of artistic and creative expressions. Wednesday,22th of January, 19:15: Literary encounter. Come and see the works and the works of THOMAS SON Writer and illustrator Salmantino Location: Integrated Municipal Center "Julian Sanchez Charro" - Place de la Concorde (Front El Corte Ingles) Approximate duration: 1h30

Thursday, 23th of January, 17:30: Dancing class/ Jazz dance. You are going to learn the first steps in jazz dance academy Raquel Gomez (Suitable clothes: leggings - Short Sleeve and socks) Price: 6€ Location: Tia Tula - Approximate duration: 1:30

Friday, 24th of January, 11:00 or 17:00: Movie. Agustín Díaz Yanes ALATRISTE (2006) Imperial Spain, seventeenth century. Diego Alatriste, brave soldier in the service of his majesty, combat in the war in Flanders. In an ambush by the Dutch, Balboa, his friend and fellow soldier, falls mortally wounded and makes a request Alatriste will fulfill his promises: to care for his son Inigo.
