Extracurricular activities 31.08.2015 - 06.09.2015

August is already ending, but we are ready to welcome September with a lot of fun activities!

Monday 31, 5:30 pm: Guided tour – Accompanied by teacher Lorena, we will go to visit the principal monuments of Salamanca.

Tuesday 1, 5:00 pm: Scavenger hunt – Cultural and photographic gymkhana. Come discover really interesting things about Salamanca.

Wednesday 2, 6:00 pm: Merienda – Let's go have an afternoon snack (merienda) at Café Bar Mandala. They offer a wide range of juices, coffees, cakes, tapas, ice-creams...

Thursday 3, 6:50 pm: Tapas – The casetas are opening, come and taste their pinchos and experience the atmosphere of the Feria.

Friday 4, 6:20 pm: Scala Coeli – We will going up the Clerecía's towers to see the panoramic view.

Saturday 5 y Sunday 6: Excursions – We have a range of trips for the perfect end to the week! Please ask our secretary for more information.

Also, unless otherwise stated, the meeting point is Tía Tula school. Lastly, if there's no price mentioned in the description, the activity is free of charge.

The amazing weather is going to make you enjoy even more, if possible, Tía Tula's activities. Check out what we have in store for you this week:

Monday 11, 6:00 pm: Book fair - We don't want to miss out the book fair at Plaza Mayor, with more than 30 bookshops and publishing houses present. There is also a space where you can glance through several books and check if you like them.

Tuesday 12, 8:00 pm: Cookery class - This week we are going to learn how to cook pimientos rellenos (stuffed peppers). As usual, we'll try them to check our culinary skills ;-)
Approximate duration: 1 h.

Wednesday 13, 7:30 pm: Literary meet with author Raúl Vacas - Teacher Carmen López will take us to a literary meeting with Raúl Vacas, organized by Asociación Pentadrama and held at Teatro Liceo's Sala de la Palabra. Our chief of studies, Montse Villar, will also attend the event.
Approximate duration: 1 h 30 min.

Thursday 14, 7:00 pm: Quiz and games at Plaza Mayor – Get to know more about Plaza Mayor in a fun activity.
Approximate duration: 30 min.

Friday 15, 7:45 pm: Microtheatre – We'll head to La Malhablada to attend one of the microtheatre plays they offer.
Approximate duration: 40 min.

Saturday 16: La Alberca y Toledo are some of the destinations available. Further information at the reception desk.

Activities 23.03.2015 - 28.03.2015

Spring has arrived and so have a flood of Tía Tula activities! A scavenger hunt, afternoon 'pinchos', a literature workshop, a guided tour of the city and a weekend trip for next Saturday - the week is shaping up to be a busy and fun-filled seven days!

Monday 23rd, 5:00 pm: Scavenger Hunt – We will split into teams to complete a range of different tasks and activities in the centre of the city. The fastest team will win a prize! Interested? Sign up now!

Tuesday 24th, 7:30 pm: Exhibition and ´'pinchos' -  Artist Paula Noidat (illustrator and photographer) presents her exhibition 'Beyond my Imagination' at El Rastrel Etic Café. Come and see her work and try a selection of vegan tapas or home-made cakes and organic coffee .

Wednesday 25th, 4:50 pm:  – Literary Workshop. Brush up on your knowledge of contemporary Spanish literature with Montse. Come and listen to a selection of poems and literary readings. 
Approximate duration: 1h30min.

Thursday 26th, 5:20 pm: Charlamos – We will watch a short film, then discuss the ideas presented, and their relevance to current issues. Don't miss this great opportunity to practice your Spanish!

Friday 27th, 6:10 pm: City Visit – A fun and interesting look at the history of various monuments and buildings around Salamanca. 
Approximate duration: 1h30min.

Saturday 28th: Weekend trip – We have a range of trips for the perfect end to the week!

Activities 16.2.2015 - 21.2.2015

We hope you are not too tired after the Carnival celebrations because we have planned really fun after-school activities for this week for you to practise your Spanish. Check them out:

Monday 16, 4:00 pm: Visit to a convent– Come discover Las Claras convent. We will visit its museum and we will admire the views. Approximate duration: 1 h.

Tuesday 17, 5:00 pm: Salamanca Spanish Challenge– Up for a challenge? Join our game. In teams, you will have to face different challenges around the city centre. There will be a prize for the winner! Approximate duration: 1 h 30 min.

Wednesday 18, 7:30 pm: Cookery class – Completely recovered (she was ill last week), our teacher will turn you into a master of the art of cooking croquetas. Approximate duration: 1 h.

Thursday 19, 5:50 pm: Songs– Teacher Elena will walk us through the most important Spanish songs of the 80s. And, of course, we will sing them! Approximate duration: 1 h.

Friday 20, 7:00 pm: Tapas tour – Don't miss out this tour where you will get the chance to taste delicious tapas. Approximate duration: 1 h 30 min.

Saturday 21: Excursions – Oporto, Toledo, Sevilla, Granada… You choose. Ask at the reception desk for help to plan your weekend trip.
